SDBC has been involved with and supporting Care Outreach for more than 20 years. Christmas for the Bush is the major annual event of Care Outreach.

Starting in mid-November, this program is a three-week long undertaking, as our volunteers visit our rural families, face-to-face, delivering Christmas gifts, festive cheer, and support.

The “Christmas for the Bush” Mitchell base visits will be made between 24th November and 12th December 2025. Volunteers are needed to participate in this year’s visit.

For any persons interested in joining the team for 2025, for all or part of the visiting time, and needing to know more about the program, there will be an information session conducted on Saturday 13th September 2025 in the Conference Room at SDBC, commencing at 2pm and finishing no later than 5pm.

There will also be a Care Outreach Training session held at the Care Outreach office at 2/35 Dacmar Rd, Coolum Beach on 27th September 2025, commencing at 1:30pm.
