Sharing needs...
Do you often wonder; "what was the early church community like?" We certainly know they had their difficulties, and we're fortunate to see a glimpse of how they responded.
(Acts 2:44-47) All the believers were together and had everything in common. {45} Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. {46} Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, {47} praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
But these days, in our busy separated lives, how do we practically share with each other. By the time I hear of someones need, they have often struggled through alone.
It is our hope that through the wonders of modern technology (arguably the very thing that isolates us), and the love we share for each other, we can better "share our needs" and meet each other at that point of need.
If you have that old something sitting in the garage or back cupboard, and you have a sneaking feeling that someone could use it more effectively than you, then let us know.
Likewise, if you recognise someone in need, or have a need for something yourself, let us know.
Whether its an extra blanket for winter, a cot for the new baby, a bike to get to work, or a spare bed for a vistor, there is normally someone with a spare (Check out Luke 3:11).
