Who is FIGS for?
Teenagers from high school to university age.
Where is FIGS held?
In the main church building - in the conference room.
When are the studies held?
We meet fortnightly on Saturdays from 7.30 to 9.30 pm.
What does it cost to attend?
Nothing for the Bible study nights! If we go out for an activity, then there may a small cost involved depending on what we do.
Do I need to phone ahead to reserve a place?
No - everyone is welcome. If you are unsure which week we are meeting, then give us an email or a call.
At Sunnybank District Baptist Church we encourage everyone to become a part of a small group. We are a large church and we don't want ANYONE to get "lost in the crowd" because each and every person is important to us.
You don't have to be a Bible scholar to participate - the studies are made for everyday people.
Sunnybank District Baptist Church has a growing network of small groups that cater for many different types of people.
FIGS is a Bible study group for teenagers. The group is composed mostly of people from Chinese families who have lived most of their lives in Australia and are more comfortable speaking English than mandarin. However, everyone is welcome to join in with us to read and study God's Word.
Each year the group chooses a topic or theme and in the studies each fortnight we work our way through subjects relating to these topics.
We take the safety of everyone on our property very seriously. All FIGS leaders hold a current "suitability card" for child related employment which is issued by the Commission of Children and Young People.
The aims of all our home groups including FiGS are to:
- Study the Bible together for life change.
- Provide pastoral care for one another in practical ways.
- Fellowship together and enjoy each others company.
- Reach out and invite new people to join in.
- Pray together in a real way for one another, the church and Unreached people groups as well as our missionaries.
