Who is Kids' Club for?
We welcome kids who are primary school age. We find preschool and prep children do not cope well with the program.
Do I need to be a part of the church to enrol my kids?
No - all children from grades 1 to 7 are welcome!
When is Kids' Club?
Kids' Club is usually on the first week of the June/July state school holidays. The program runs from 9am till 12.30pm each day from Monday to Friday.
Where is Kid's Club held?
In the facilities of the Sunnybank District Baptist Church.
What does it cost to send my kids?
It is $25 for one child, $50 per family. (Subject to change).
When can we enrol?
Enrolments for Kids' Club open after the May long weekend. Enrolments usually close 2 weeks before the program starts, although we are often full 3 weeks before. A waiting list is held in case of cancellations.
Do we need to pack food for the kids?
No. The children are provided with morning tea.
Every year, the Sunnybank District Baptist Church runs a Kids' Club for families in our local community. We have about 250 children attending each year, and are often booked out 3 weeks before the event.
The Gospel Light Material we use has a different theme each year such as:
2001 - "Sonzone Discovery Centre"
Based on GP4U (God's Plan For You).
2002 - "SonCreek Junction"
Based on the book of Acts and becoming a part of God's family.
2003 - "SonCanyon River Adventure"
Based on wise sayings from Proverbs in the Bible.
2004 - "SonHarvest County Fair"
Based on the fruits of the Spirit.
2005 - "SonGames"
2006 - "Kingdom of the Son"
Based on the LORDS prayer.
2007 - "SonTreasure Isand"
Based on LOVE.
2008 - "SonForce Kids"
Based on a greater understanding of what it means to courageously serve God.
2009 - "SonWorld Adventure Park"
Based on who Jesus is and how will we choose to respond to Him.
2010 - "SonRock Kids Camp"
Based on building our lives on the rock.
Having fun, providing a safe place for kids to play, building bridges between S.D.B.C. and the local community, and teaching spiritual truths are the main emphases of Kids' Club.
The crafts are specifically designed to suit different age groups and the kids work on them each day so they are completed by the end of the week
The basic format of each day is as follows:-
9.00 - 10.00am Morning Program: This includes singing, a Bible story and a memory verse.
10.00 - 11.30am Rotational activities: Including craft, games, gym activities and morning tea.
11.30 - 12.10pm ‘Trekka Time' : This is where the children divide into year levels to reinforce the memory verse, Bible story and complete their own activity book.
12.10 - 12.30pm Singing and Drama
12.30 pm Home time
Dress your kids in clothes that are suitable for doing gym and craft activities in. Also, we prefer shoes that are easy to get on or off, no sharp jewelry or hair slides which can damage inflated gym equipment). When you drop your kids off, you are welcome to stay and watch the first part of the morning program which is held in the main block from 9 - 10 am and also to watch the singing and Drama from 12pm until 12.30pm when you come to collect your children.
On the first day, you will need to bring the registration card and enrolment fees for your children to the registration desk (from 8.30 am onwards). Please be sure to include any important medical details or food allergies on your registration card.
Here at S.D.B.C. we take the responsibility of looking after your kids very seriously. All leaders are volunteers and undergo training to inform them of their responsibilities with regard to safety, child protection and the necessity to be good role models and also to prepare them for their leadership role. If you have any other concerns or questions then please do not hesitate to contact one of our leaders for more information.
